WHILST Cotswold District Council is looking at the under-provision of car parking, even short term expedient solutions will take time to become operative.
As a way to facilitate the location of vacant spaces to locals and visitors alike, can I put forward this idea.
Four of those road side electronic information boards would be positioned on the four key approach roads to Cirencester:
The Tetbury Road Waitrose roundabout, London Road by The Beeches, The Fire Station roundabout and the traffic lights by the rugby club.
They would advertise the number of vacant spaces in The Waterloo, The Forum and Brewery Car Parks.
Six electronic clickers on the entry and exit points would be all that was needed to communicate with a central server.
As you arrive in the town you would know at a glance where to head for.
Less frustration, happy shoppers and more efficient use of time for everyone.
