OUR hard working and disrespected junior doctors’ pleas fall on the deaf ears of Jeremy Hunt, to the horror of anyone who needs urgent hospital treatment.

History repeats itself.

In 1980, the demands on junior doctors and the coercion from a harsh draconian NHS system meant that they had to take their case to the House of Lords.

They won their case, and their hours were reduced and conditions improved.

Has it taken 35 years for so much wax to grow over politicians’ ears?

No-one is asked to work such long shifts and be so responsible for others’ lives.
