IF Lord Bathurst is so keen to leave a “legacy” (the proposed Chesterton development) that the people of Cirencester generally do not want, why doesn’t he propose to split the development and build half of it in the spacious grounds of Cirencester Park?
That way the potential traffic congestion to the south of the town - something that all the officials involved seem to be totally uninterested in addressing - would be spread over a much larger area and possibly result in slightly less of a local disaster.
As a consequence, the new homes on these developments might then have enough space in each garden to accommodate a rotary clothes line.
