CIRENCESTER Soroptimists would like to thank all their members and friends, old and new, who came along to the tea party to celebrate the UN International Women’s Day on March 8.
Special thanks go to all those who made and donated delicious cakes.
Many signatures were added to the pledge for “Planet 50-50 by 2030” aiming for gender parity by that year, acknowledging the work needed in many countries of the world in order to achieve the goal.
The same day saw the launch of an important joint project between Child.org and Soroptimists International of Great Britain and Ireland.
Meru Women’s Garden in Kenya will assist women to grow food for their families and sell any surplus to fund education for their children.
Soroptimists inspire action to improve the lives of women and children worldwide.
