THIS is the season for positive thinking. Can the readers focus on the citizens who variously keep our churches functioning in all support aspects. There are the folk who maintain an orderly progression of food supply to distribution centres to help out the needy.
I was involved for thirty years with the Royal British Legion caring for ex-service personnel of all ages and the very old who stepped up to the action step and sold poppies.
So, I am aware of the steady diligence which this nucleus of volunteers give such a fantastic service for the larger community who may think it just happens.
It doesn’t and a vocal thank you is deserved by this group of dedicated fellow citizens.
