BOTH Bathurst Development and Cotswold District Council assert that the proposed Chesterton development is within walking distance of the town centre.
So what is a realistic walking distance for most people?
The half-hour walk from the parish church to Chesterton Farm will be too much for many residents and they will be forced to use their cars, making transport for this remote site unsustainable.
But the Local Plan for 40 per cent more homes in Cirencester is silent on the provision of any more town centre car parking.
Maybe representatives from Bathurst Development and Cotswold District Council would like to walk it themselves, including representatives with shopping bags, young children and pushchairs ?
