I WAS shocked to read last week that the Conservativerun county council are proposing to cut front line services at Cirencester fire station.
If they get their way, full time fire-fighters will be replaced by retained staff.
I have no doubt this will increase response times and put lives at risk, not just for the people of Cirencester but the surrounding areas as well.
It’s madness to do this just as the town’s population is expanding. Full time and retained firefighters do a fantastic job protecting us but the status quo must be kept.
The Tory politicians at county should not play politics with people’s lives. I urge everyone to make there comments to the county by visiting there website gloucestershire.gov.uk/consultglosfire.
It only takes a few minutes and it could save your life.
