RECENTLY the house next door on Wheat Hill has been put up for sale. Rubbish from the someone was employed to tidy the outside garden was up but instead of removing the rubbish they left it left strewn about after it was tidied up.

After it had laid there for a week, so I emailed CDC town councillor Mr S Hirst with copies via email and cc’s to Tetbury TC’s Mr’s T Walsh, C Pearce and K Painter.

I asked Cllr Hirst this: “On contacting the CDC, about the rubbish I was informed that they doubt if they can do anything about it and for me to voice my views to the estate agents, a Perry & Bishop of Tetbury,

"This is wrong, as if I or any other resident of Tetbury had similar items to be disposed, we would have to pay the CDC to remove it so why can’t those responsible be made to tidy the mess they have left in Wheat Hill?"

I know we are only ‘social housing’ except for bar a few, but surely we are entitled to the same facilities as everyone else in our wonderful town, lived here, baby, boy and man[grumpgramp] for 70 years and have never seen the likes before.” ?

I received an email reply from Tetbury TC clerk which contained the words “have arranged for our head groundsman to clear the mess today and will let the estate agents know what we have done and how disappointed we are”.

This is wrong: the CDC should be doing this and who will reimburse TTC for the cost? Nobody.

It looks like if you are a business you can dump what you want but be the general public – Lord help you, we will be after you. Come on councillors we voted you in to represent us what are you doing, in training for government.
