COUNCILLOR Nick Parsons kindly informs us (WGS Letters July 16) that the proposals for the development of Kemble airfield “that Wiltshire Council... does not support the development of the proposed Kemble location” and “are NOT endorsed by the CDC and are NOT part of the formal Local Plan Consultation Process”.
Thanks for the reminder, but YES we did know that, but plans can be changed, however annoying that may be. So a reminder may be appropriate that councillors are elected to represent the views of their constituents, and they seem to be ignoring the very strong feelings against the proposed 2,300-ish houses all in the Chesterton area.
I did a random sample of 50 people, and 98 per cent were against this proposal. Perhaps it is time to carry out a full referendum of the 24,000 inhabitants of Cirencester?
