FURTHER to Dr Richard Gray's letter confirming the successful Christian Aid Annual Appeal week in Malmesbury, I am delighted to report more good news from Cirencester and the surrounding villages.
At the start of the Appeal Week in May in the Standard's Thought for the Week, I talked of 'being moved with compassion' in the face of suffering and adversity and the response has been magnificent.
The monies raised were £11,519 and with the inclusion of Gift Aid the total is almost £13,000. This is the largest amount ever collected locally.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed so generously, helping to fund projects targeted on the poorest and most vulnerable in our hurting world, empowering communities to help themselves and giving hope.
Thank you for making a difference.
