IN RESPONSE to Mr Andrew Tubb (Letters, May 28).

Cirencester Town Council, what a poor response to my letter.

Maybe you did inform the press, but which one? Was it the Standard or the Daily Press? If so it was not printed in What’s On.

Yes we know we can sign a book in an office at Bingham House, but that book should be in the parish church, a place of respect.

And I did not ask what other towns were doing for the celebrations, I asked about the town of Cirencester.

What about the flags?

Sorry I missed them, there were only two, maybe I should have gone to Specsavers, I might have seen more.

As regarding Keith Brown’s letter from the Baptist church.

How could you fit a whole town in your little hall? Yours was a one-sided affair.

I meant for the whole town to get together and for the mayor of Cirencester to be there. He should have got together with the council and done something.

What was wrong with having 40s music played by loudspeaker in the market place?

The last celebration we did, rich and poor people were all one person that day.

It was It was one we will never forget. What did we have this time? Nothing.

Come on ‘Ciren’ back me up.

MRS M TAYLOR
