I WOULD like to share with you my NHS experiences over the last few years; in connection with my recent total knee replacement operation at Cheltenham Hospital.
I have suffered from left knee problems from the early 80s, due mostly to supporting and participating in local sporting activities, including playing rugby/football and other local Cirencester field sports.
Over the last few years my left knee pain levels have increased, so after retiring, and becoming an OAP, I decided with the help and expertise knowledge of my local GP, Dr Shaikh of The Avenue Cirencester Surgery, a knee operation was the best way forward.
Now I am back at our cottage after surgery, going for daily walks up an adjacent lane, going a little further each day, taking my time, also using the stairs and sleeping very much better – pain levels are very small.
Thirty-five days after surgery, I would just like to say that my experiences obtained at Cheltenham NHS hospital have been fantastic, my very best and kindest regards to all staff at this hospital, in particular staff on Alestone ward.
