MOST of us know that if you want accurate information, there is no point in asking a politician, as (s)he will either not answer the question at all, or give a biased and evasive edited version of the facts, where you need to work out what was not said to find something like the truth.

My wife and I were amazed that so many people voted Tory in this area, despite the obvious failings of the last government, and would like to see if some of your readers who voted Tory can explain clearly why they did.

Most of us know that our economy did not fail because of Labour government spending, but because of widespread illegal trading (gambling) by the big banks which caused them, and us, to collapse. Osborne claimed he would eliminate the deficit in five years, but is not even halfway there.

In his first three years he borrowed more money and spent more than the Labour government did in 13 years.

Cameron has done nothing to solve housing inflation so that people in work have us give them housing benefits to subsidise bad paying employers and greedy landlords.

The Government is so naive, that they did not realise that if millions get pay below the living wage, they will not pay taxes and so there is a shortfall, even after increasing VAT. Instead of getting immigration down to 10,000 a year as Cameron promised, there were over 300,000 last year.

Finally, Cameron shows no shame in creating policies that in the last year caused nearly a million people to be on the edge of starvation and have to be helped by voluntary foodbanks.

So please, can you give us a reasoned account as to why you voted Conservative?
