I WAS amazed and surprised to see in your paper that the Grove Lane/ Burford Road improvements were finished.
Surely after spending millions, and a great deal of inconvenience and chaos, we are not left with temporary road signage, with blow-over and ugly signs warning us of pedestrians crossing?
The only improvements I can see are for a couple of houses gaining parking and turning areas.
You used to be able to filter into the roundabout from the Beeches area, but now they have created a accident-waiting-to-happen junction.
I hope the powers that be don’t allow Britannia to tender for another white elephant, the town centre “improvement”or the Nettleton bypass, otherwise neither of these will be finished in my life-time.
At the same time as Britannia started work, Developments of a similar but larger nature were undertaken at Bracknell and Gloucester. Both were finished in months, and the improvements were noticeable for many, not just a couple.
