I LOVED your Page 10 last week for its ‘Bus calls backed’ story. The current national government has established over five years damaging cuts to our social fabric, public services and well-being.

They threaten even more cuts if they win the imminent General Election, but we ordinary people know that neither our society/ communities nor individuals and their families can sustain such drastic cuts.

And yet in Cirencester, we have a campaign group, Cirencester Against Bus Cuts, a reaction to cuts in frequency of services and operating hours. The local Conservatives have hooked themselves on to this campaign, it seems.

Has someone not told them it is their party, in government with their Lib-Dem pals, that has instituted these cuts that make life difficult for the majority, while the rich carry on their own way?

I daresay the Lib-Dems will be hanging on to the same group’s shirt tails for similar publicity.

Put that alongside the obvious party political inference on Page 7 of the council’s Cotswold News magazine and you can see that we are being primed for the May General Election.

Do they think we’re all stupid?
