T E BENNETT’s letter (Standard, October 9) on behalf of FROTH (Friends of the Humpty Dumps) contained a definite message.
He reminded me of when I became a teacher at Powell’s C of E School in January 1956, I soon found that at home time the children of Bowling Green area had going to the Humpty Dumps uppermost in their minds, especially if there was snow. They quickly told me where this was. Going to the Bingham was another reason for hurrying off. Where was this Bingham?
It is good from many aspects to remind everyone that local play places are really as important now as they always were.
