LAST Saturday, August 9, between 1pm and 2pm, in the area outside the King’s Head Hotel at the bus stop, the driver of a large National Express type of coach (I believe light green in colour, but not National Express) was allowing passengers to embark.

I was approaching on my way to HSBC area bank when I had to pass a family of four. In doing so I had to go on the edge of the pavement and in so doing my right shoulder collided forcefully with the coach’s baggage door which was jutting out about 18 inches and I fell to the floor. When I was able to stand with several people helping me up, I said to the driver that it was dangerous to leave an unattended door jutting out so far. He seemed totally unconcerned and said that he had to get luggage out. I pointed out that if he had been by the door I would have seen him and avoided the accident and there was no need to leave it open.

I am now left with a very sore cracked rib, but would like to thank the people who came to my aid. I would also like to know if anyone knew the name of the coach company.
