SO THE rumours are true about the future of Cirencester Hospital in general and the 24-hour cover provided by its excellent Minor Injuries Unit in particular, if the Sir Humphrey-esque comments in last week`s Standard from the person responsible for funding the service are anything to go by.
`Positive engagement`;`best possible outcome`;`reflect the needs of Cirencester Hospital`;`important that decisions are not rushed`;`we share the desire`;`based on consensus`;and `actively working with local people`etc etc. No you are not Mary Hutton as the plans under consideration clearly represent a potential substantial change of use of the NHS service provision and as such require formal consultation with the local Statutory Body set up for this purpose ie Healthwatch Gloucestershire.
You know where we are Ms Hutton.
