AS A past governor and a member of The Woodland Trust I support felling the troublesome trees at Birdlip School. They have little merit but age and size, and as such affect the health and safety of the pupils. They have been well maintained, but their spreading roots still block the drains, causing raw sewage to flood the playground.

Birdlip School has many trees which provide an amenity, and the time has come to consider the needs of the young children over the nostalgia for trees long past their usefulness.

I appeal to Cotswold District Council.
