AS I have no wish to incur the wrath of Cirencester Town Council in giving away the location of the Christmas market chalets I have asked the Standard to omit my name and address from this letter.

The chalets are stored not a million miles from where I live. Until last December they were neatly stacked, covered with tarpaulins and protected with a high wire fence. However in December they mysteriously went "walkabout" for a fortnight. They were picked up by a massive articulated lorry one Saturday morning and returned roughly a fortnight later in appalling weather. Where and why they went we can only guess?

They are now poorly stacked with no protective fence and are fully open to the elements. Timber stacked in the open should have battens in between each layer to allow it to breathe otherwise it will rot very quickly. So to summarise they are an eyesore, insecure from theft, liable to rot and in a dry summer are considered a fire risk. Surely £30,000 of chalets deserve a better resting place.
