SCROOGE-like thieves stole Christmas decorations from outside of a house in Malmesbury.

The mean-spirited offenders targeted the property in Avenue De Gein, sometime overnight between December 8th and 9th.

Sergeant Martin Alvis, of Malmesbury Police said: "Have you seen anyone being stupid in the area, thinking this was funny? It's not, return them now please."

A quantity of Christmas tree stands and chainsaws were then stolen from a business premises in the town overnight, the following evening, after raiders gained entry by smashing two windows.
