Pupils have no respect for anybody's feelings

12:56pm Tuesday 27th February 2001

I am writing in response to your letter from a pupil at Westwood College (News Shopper, January 31).

I can accept you cannot tar everyone with the same brush, but unfortunately, she is not the majority.

I am a new resident to the area and I can assure you that if I was aware of the situation residents have to tolerate, then I would never have considered moving here.

But I have no option than to put up with it now.

I moved in during the summer holidays and was so excited about my new home.

I became concerned when my neighbours warned me the kids were due to start back to school in September.

The first day confirmed everything they said to me.

My property has been continuously vandalised with graffiti, our alleyways have become dumping grounds for their rubbish and been used as a public toilet.

I feel totally intimidated and uncomfortable in my new home. I go to work worrying what I will come home to. What have I done to deserve this?

It has taken me many years to save to buy my dream home, which I intended to stay in for a long time and all they have done is shattermy dream.

They obviously have no respect for other peoples feelings or property.
