WHILE everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the snow, residents are reminded that throwing snowballs at houses can be dangerous.
Police are reminding residents that throwing snowballs at houses, particularly the windows, can cause distress to residents, particularly older ones.
This follows an incident last Friday in which a pensioner’s Gloucester house was pelted with snowballs.
The 72-year-old occupant of the home on Oak Way reported seeing two young people aged between 15 and 17 throwing snowballs at his windows at around 5.40pm before running off in the direction of Byfords Road.
One was wearing a light hoody, the other a dark one.
Anyone with information on the incident can call Gloucestershire police on 101 quoting incident number 412 of January 18.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org
In some cases Crimestoppers offer rewards of up to £1,000 where information leads to a conviction.
