ROSE Hill Westonbirt School kicked off its rugby season with a visit from charity the Bath Rugby Foundation to deliver a talk and coaching session to Key Stage Two pupils.

The charity aims to enhance the lives of young people through sport and former Bath Rugby player and foundation manager Jimmy Dean delivered a Q&A session to years 3 - 6 with help from two volunteer players, Joe and Faith.

Players talked about their involvement in Bath Rugby and why it is important to encourage young people to play sport. The girls in particular were fascinated to hear how Faith became interested in such a male-dominated sport.

The school also played host to Dave Reeves from Bath Rugby partner charity PROPS, which provides a range of services for young people with learning difficulties to promote inclusive community activity.

Last term the Rose Hill Westonbirt Parents Association held their Summer Ball with all proceeds going to support this charity.

Children and parents were able to present a cheque for £2,500 to PROPS.

Players then delivered an energetic training session for students.
