IT IS still not too late for 16-17 year-olds to sign up for an adventure of a lifetime this summer on the free National Citizen Service (NCS) three-week scheme.
A few places are still available for NCS which is being run by Cirencester College in the town and surrounding areas. New ambassador for the scheme is adventurer Bear Grylls. He said: “This incredible programme reaches out to young people in all communities around the country and offers the chance to learn great life and outdoor skills. “I urge young people to sign up to the 30,000 places available to take part in this brilliant scheme this year.”
Those who enrol for NCS will spend two weeks away from home where they might be mountaineering, or canoeing. When they return they will work as a team on a project to improve their community.
