Jane Sharp appointed as chairman to the corporation at Cirencester College

CIRENCESTER College has appointed local business owner Jane Sharp as new chairman to the Corporation.

Mrs Sharp runs an established Cirencester-based design and print management company, PrintGinger Ltd, with her husband and has been a governor at Cirencester College for five years.

She takes over from outgoing chairman Mike Cheeseman who has held that position since 2006.

Principal Kim Clifford said: “We were very sad to say good bye to Mike who has been a tremendous support for the College, which has been very much appreciated by staff, students and fellow governors.

“ Whilst it is sad to say farewell, we are really looking forward to working with Jane who has been a Governor for the past five years. Jane is a very experienced governor and a passionate advocate of education and Cirencester College, we are very lucky to have Jane as the new Chair of the Corporation and I look forward to many years of working with her.”

Mrs Sharp said: “I am honoured to be taking over the role as Chair of the Corporation.Mike will certainly be a hard act to follow. However, I’m looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead and am particularly excited to be involved with the significant new plans to improve facilities here at Cirencester College.

“I have a passion for and huge belief in education in Cirencester and I hope to help the college to continue to forge stronger links with Cirencester schools, the Royal Agricultural College, local employers and the wider community.”
