HEADTEACHER of Swell and Longborough Primary Schools, Karen Lewis, said farewell to staff and pupils at the Year 6 leavers' service held at St Mary's Church Lower Swell. The service was attended by parents, governors and villagers.

Mrs Lewis became head of Swell School six years ago and became the headteacher of both Swell and Longborough Schools when they became a federation two years ago. She is moving to Grangefield Primary School in Bishops Cleeve in September.

Clare Fisher has been appointed new head of both schools and will take up her position in September.
