VOLUNTEERS from Zurich Insurance gave up part of their summer as part of their team building activities to revamp a derelict area at Coln House School in Fairford.

And thanks to their efforts pupils will now be able to enjoy overnight camping in the grounds.

Members of staff at Zurich in Swindon have been volunteering at Coln House school for many years and have transformed several areas of the school.

Headteacher Chris Clarke said the group had done a “fantastic” job in revamping a derelict are of garden. “This can now be used by some of our younger students to enjoy overnight camping in readiness for some of our expeditions coming up later this year.

“They have donated their time freely every year for the past six to seven years including designing and constructing our memorial garden, all the gravel paths, the garden by the bus shelter outside the school, the swimming pool garden area amongst other projects and their hard work is truly appreciated by all of us at Coln House.”
