AMBITIOUS Young Enterprise students from Cirencester Sixth Form College have already got a firm hold on real world business thanks to their success at last week’s Young Enterprise national final.

The Swapplications team is now the most successful Young Enterprise team to emerge from the College and the team is looking to turn the business into a private limited company.

Swapplications was one of just 13 businesses out of 2,000 to make it through to the UK Young Enterprise national finals, which comprised a tough 12-hour judging process.

As well as making valuable contacts at the UK final, including Michael Acton Smith creator of Moshi Monsters, the College’s Swapplications team received numerous offers of investment to take the business forward.

The team, who designed and marketed an education app, won the award for the best production at the final for the coding and development of their app.

And student Hannah Clinch, 17, was presented with an award as the highest achieving student in the YE exam in the South West.

Joint MD of Swapplications, 18 year-old student Mohammad Karim, described it as an “incredible” experience.

He said: “When we started in September we never realised that this business would be so successful and that we would all become actual business people within 12 months.

“I can't thank the college enough for their support, but mostly I would like to thank the team and Hannah Clark our teacher who has helped us to develop the skills we need to become successful business people".
