CIRENCESTER Deer Park school welcomed back its class of 2012 for its celebration of achievement evening.
Former pupil and double rowing Olympic gold medallist, Peter Reed, made the evening extra special by presenting the awards and reflecting on his own personal journey.
While talking his two gold medals (Beijing and London) were passed through the audience. Awards were given out for academic achievements but also for contribution to the school and commitment to extra-curricular activities.
Headteacher Chiquita Henson said: "It is always a privilege to welcome pupils back to Deer Park and we are immensely proud of this year group.
"As candidates, they pioneered 'controlled assessments' and coped remarkably well with new courses. Characteristically they consistently demonstrated their resilience, resourcefulness and reciprocity.
" It was a joy to reflect with them on their achievements, to celebrate their successes and to learn of the commitments they have all made to their continuing education."
