STRATTON Primary School pupils put their science and orienteering skills into practice on a recent adventure day at the Ernest Cook centre in Fairford.
Intrepid Year 4 pupils visited Lea Woods for an outdoor education day learning more about habitats they had focussed on in their science lessons.
Students turned detectives and explored the woodland area examining the funghi and trees.
They also found animal droppings, burrows and animal hand puppets, which they used to help them look for clues.
The young explorers spent time catching and identifying mini-beasts and were given the chance to put their map reading skills into practice, looking for clues across the woods.
To complete the day, students had a campfire and toasted well-earned marshmallows.
