MARK Stothert, producer of the critically acclaimed 'Eddie', will be at the film screening in Malmesbury on Monday.

Starting at 7.30pm, Mark will introduce the film and then take questions and answers after.

“Edie” stars Sheila Hancock and Kevin Guthrie and tells the story of an 84 year old woman, freed from her controlling late husband and her role as a “carer”.

Edie, played by Hancock, sets out to fulfil a lifetime’s ambition to climb Suilven, one of Scotland’s most distinctive and remote mountains.

Assisted by Jonny, played by Guthrie, Edie embarks on her ultimate personal challenge.

Hancock, aged 84, said: "It was tough, but it was kind of wonderful to be doing that at my age.

"Old people have such low expectations of themselves.”

Critical responses to the film have included such comments as 'Wholly uplifting' and 'Two incredibly tender performances'.
