A CONCERT BAND are desperately in need of a new percussionist.
Malmesbury Concert Band are playing this Saturday, but they are currently without a percussionist.
Director of music Tony Fleming said: “ We badly need a new percussionist for our summer programme this year and our 160th anniversary in 2019, selections from which we will be playing on Saturday.
“We would warmly welcome any applicants.
"Ideally, we would prefer someone who can read music, but we are flexible.”
Typically the band's summer programme is electric but they now have new numbers that include a recently discovered Sousa march, a Frank Sinatra selection, some blues and classical music as well as the well-known Pink Panther.
This weekend's performance will take place on Saturday, June 2, in the Market Cross, Malmesbury from 11am to 12.30pm.
Oaksey Village Fete will host the band's next performance after this weekend on Saturday, June 30.
