AN ANNUAL beer festival is returning this summer in a new location.

The Malmesbury Beer Festival is a favourite in the town as residents down pints for a good cause.

Originally the festival was set up as a one off in 2013 by Ray Sanderson's mayoral year, to raise funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

But such was the success of the event, it has been ran annually in April ever since, with profits going to Malmesbury schools since 2014.

With three of the four years landing on sunny days, and with the event previously inside a hall, the event has been moved outside so people can choose to drink under the sun.

The event will now take place on the Malmesbury Vics field, on July 6 and July 7.

All profits will go to the schools once again, with more than £11,500 raised from the event in the past 4 years.

School staff and PTA always volunteer for the event, helping serve ales and sell tickets.

25 ales, 10 ciders, live music, outdoor seating and a food marquee will all be provided for people to enjoy.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased from the Whole Hog, Malmesbury Schools, Rose & Crown, Philip Gurnhill Accountants and the Malmesbury Vics.

Tickets are £10 each including a glass and two beers.

Barrell sponsorship is available.
