HEARTWARMING messages written on pebbles have been left around Malmesbury High Street this week for a special special reason.

The small stones, which bear positive sentences such as 'You are amazing, remember that', 'Kindness' and 'Wake up and smile' were spread around the town as part of mental health awareness week, this week.

CMAS or Community Mentoring and Support CiC’s are an organisation who work with young people between the ages of 13 and 19 years old and aim to provide quality support, wherever that may be.

Young people from the group, spread the pebbles round the town for people to find, keep and share to others, in order to create a ‘positive vibe’ around the town, according to CMAS project manager Jude Deaman.

We’ve had a great response to the pebbles – it was nice to bring such a positive presence and positive vibe to the town,” she said.

"When we do anything, touching on any issues, it always comes back to one thing, mental health.”

The group decided to take positive action by discussing positive phrases, writing them on stones and spreading them around the high street.

"We did it to make the young people feel a part of the community,” Jude explained.

"Roughly 35 young people took part from Malmesbury over a couple of weeks and we’ve had people calling and messaging us to say they had found a stone.

"I went to a cafe in town and saw they had a stone on the counter and is just great to know that young people did this."

Have you found a stone – if so take a photo, tell us where you found it and email sam.krayem-wood@newsquest.co.uk and we’ll let the group know.
