Police have been getting tough on drivers ignoring no-entry signs in Royal Wootton Bassett.
Officers have been on Hook Street issuing £50 tickets to drivers ignoring the 'No Entry/Road Closed' signs.
Thirteen fixed penalty notices were issued. One was also issued for a driver using his vehicle for business use without the correct insurance.
The most common excuse drivers gave police was: “The signs were not clear”.
The road is closed for the foreseeable future in the direction towards Royal Wootton Bassett from Swindon.
It is, however, open the other way, and drivers can use Hook Street as a one-way street only to drive from Royal Wootton Bassett towards Swindon.
Drivers should use the alternative routes available.
