THE Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard has been reporting the news and championing its community since 1837, and we will continue doing so long into the future.

But digital technologies are reshaping things in the newspaper industry and we are adapting to an exciting new world.

We no longer cover news and sport and offer marketing services to businesses on paper alone.

We are a multi-media business with a thriving website and social media accounts.

Our combined weekly print and online audience currently stands at 28,335* and continues to grow.

Our customers increasingly use new digital channels to communicate with us, and our reporters and advertising staff are highly mobile with their laptop computers and smart phones.

As a result there is less need than ever for physical office space.

So we have decided to close the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard office in Dyer Street, Cirencester.

There will be no change in the paper, its publication day or its frequency, but from the end of December 2017 it will be published from offices at 6 Lansdown, Stroud GL5 1BE.

The Standard’s publisher, Newsquest Media Group, also has offices at 15 Duke Street, Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14 8EF, and 100 Victoria Road, Swindon, Wiltshire SN1 3BE.

Please address any questions about the office closure to John Wilson, Editor.
