THIS autumn, Malmesbury based condiment maker Tracklements is calling on local residents to don their wellies and get involved with the annual crabapple picking in aid of Sherston Primary School.

For more than a decade, Tracklements have partnered with the school to collect crabapples which the firm then turns into their English crabapple jelly.

For every kilogram of crabapples donated, 50p goes directly to the school and for every jar of jelly sold nationwide Tracklements gives 25p to the school.

“If you donated crabapples or bought a jar of jelly this year, you helped raise over £700, thank you very much”, said Harriet Dawson from Tracklements.

“Crabapples are beautifully golden, rich and fruity – the perfect partner for strong cheddar cheese and divine in a roast pork roll.

“Alongside making sensational jelly, the crabapple project is also a great way to teach the school children about the provenance of their food as well as using up fruit which may otherwise go to waste."

If you have any crabapples you won’t be using and would like to support Sherston Primary School, Tracklements are accepting donations.

You can drop them off at their headquarters at Whitewalls, Easton Grey, SN16 0RD or call 01666 827044. Go to tracklements.co.uk for more information
