THE best and worst GP surgeries in North Wiltshire have been revealed with the publication of the annual GP Patient Survey.

The survey ranks practises across the country based on answers to a range of questions about patient’s satisfaction of their experiences.

In North Wiltshire, the overall top scoring GP practise was Cricklade Surgery who scored highly on patients who said their appointment was convenient (97 per cent) and patients’ trust and confidence in their GP (99 per cent). However the surgery was the worst performing in the entire county on the percentage of patients who said they don’t normally have to wait too long, (25 per cent).

Malmesbury Medical Partnership achieved a 95 per cent overall satisfaction score. They recorded 98 per cent satisfaction in trust and confidence but scored poorly on ease of getting through on the phone, 79 per cent.

The Tolsey Surgery in Sherston performed best in the area on success of getting an appointment with 92 per cent of respondents saying they got an appointment. The surgery also scored well in waiting times with 70 per cent of patients satisfied that they didn’t have to wait too long, compared to the national target of 58 per cent.

Purton Surgery received the lowest overall score in North Wiltshire, (89 per cent) however the practise also achieved a joint best in convenience of appointment, (97 per cent).
