IT IS very sad to see such disrespect for vital public services in the recent vandalism at Oaksey Primary School.
The school plays an important role in the lives of the whole village, not just the children who attend it.
As with most other schools across the country it is facing a funding battle.
Resources are limited and stretched beyond measure.
It is impossible to comprehend why anyone would want to cause such wanton destruction and showing such disregard for not only the school’s property but also the education of the pupils.
The vandalism at Oaksey School was not just mindless graffiti, the children had their science experiments completely ruined and the education disrupted because of a few hooligans who felt empowered by their malicious actions.
With any luck the offenders will be caught and, if the school feels a written apology is all that is necessary, then hopefully that will be enough to teach the vandals a lesson.
