EARLIER this month, the ninth annual Startley Tractor Run took place, beginning at Arches Farm in Malmesbury.
More than 100 vintage tractors took part in the 40 mile route.
This year participants raised £5,500 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance charitable trust taking the total raised over the nine events to £30,565 for charity.
Jenny Ward, who films the event on behalf of organisers Roy and Marion Webb, said: “It is Roy and Marion that put in all of the hard work.
“They are very modest about the whole thing and this is the last year that they will be doing the organising.
“It is a very popular event locally and the participants know they have to keep the first Sunday in June available for the special day.
“Three of the tractor drivers had their lives saved by the air ambulance and everyone was only too happy to donate.
“It wasn’t bad for a really fun day for all and so much money gained for charity.”
