A CONCERT is being held at Malmesbury Abbey tomorrow to raise money for the restoration of the Moravian Church.

The concert is being organised by town councillor Catherine Doody who, as mayor in 1993, organised the first such Cornucopia Concert.

Helen Kucharek, who has appeared with the English National Opera and New Sadler’s Wells Opera and is a regular guest on Friday Night is Music Night on Radio 2, is headlining the event, accompanied by John Hughes, Malmesbury Abbey’s organist, on piano.

The Minnuettes, an acapella group of nine women from Malmesbury and Lily Peers-Dent, a sixth form student from Malmesbury will also be appearing at the musical extravaganza among other guests, including the Riverside Wind Band and three young soloists from Malmesbury primary school.

The concert begins at 7pm, this Saturday, June 17.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, and are available from the Athelstan Museum.
