Councillor Bob Jones has retained his seat for Cricklade and Latton.

The Liberal Democrat candidate won the seat by a slender majority of just 40 votes.

The total number of votes cast were: Liberal Democrat - 923, Conservative - 883, Labour - 85.

Bob said: "Hard work, gets good gains.

"I’ve always said that the Conservative candidate was a phantom as he never turned up to things, he didn’t even turn up to the count.

"I am looking forward to representing the people of Cricklade and Latton again.

"My priority is getting the leisure centre sorted out.

"It’s a bit of a difficult job as there are lots of open ends to resolve but its future high on my list.

"The asset transfer to Cricklade Town Council has presented lots of legal and financial issues and I want to see Wiltshire Council put more than the £2.1million already allocated to it as that doesn’t cover the cost of the place being closed while it is being renovated.

"Thank you to the voters for your support.

"I will continue to work with the community, in the community and for the community."
