A TRAIN passenger from Cricklade has been ordered to pay more than £650 after being caught travelling without a valid ticket.
Nina Austin, 38, was found at Swindon train station without the correct ticket, which would have only cost £7.90.
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court the case was proven in her absence for the incident that took place on August 25 last year.
She was fined her £440 and told her to pay compensation of the value of the ticket to Great Western Railway, a victim surcharge of £44 and £160 costs for bringing the matter to court.
The case was one of 25 others brought before the court on the same day, with fines handed out totalling £7,840.
