BRINKWORTH Dairy have added two more awards to their overflowing trophy cabinet.

The north Wiltshire dairy won the Chippenham Business Awards Best Independent Business and Country Side Alliance South West Best Farm Enterprise, all in the same week.

Two generations from Brinkworth Dairy were at the Chippenham Business Awards ceremony to accept the award.

Farmer Chad Cryer, his wife and cheesemaker Ceri Cryer and their son, one-year-old Eric.

Speaking about their success, Ceri said: “Everyone on the farm cares about the cheese and works hard to get it right.

“It starts with Steve spreading the muck on the fields and feeding the cows making sure he balances their diet so the milk has the right constituents for us.

“Ro selects bulls to breed with our cows to make healthy, long living cows.

“Joe, Danny and Alex milk the cows calmly and keep the cows healthy to give us clean milk.

“Our cheesemaker, Lewis, works hard to consistently produce this excellent fruity tasting cheese all year round.

“Lewis even works during nights to ensure a continuous supply of cheese even in the school holidays when childcare comes first.”

As winners of the Countryside Alliance South West Regional Champion Farm Enterprise, Brinkworth Dairy will now go forward to the grand final.

This will mean they will be competing against fellow farm enterprise winners from across the country.

The final takes place at the House of Lords on Wednesday, March 22.
