POLICE in Wiltshire are focussing on the needs of young people this month.

The force is looking at ways to better engage with children and young people, as well as educate the county’s youngsters on matters which most affect then.

The police hosted the Wiltshire Youth Summit on February 8, and were joined by NHS representatives and other service providers.

During the day, Wiltshire Police ran a workshop for young people to give them an insight into the challenges they face in policing the county.

Youth engagement and development Sergeant Steve McGlynn said: “We are continuing to look at the best ways of communicating with young people – whether it be social media, face-to-face, local media or community messaging – and we’d love some feedback to hear what we could do better to improve engagement.”
