A CHILDREN’S hospice charity in Wiltshire is inviting people to take part in a four-day cycle challenge across stunning French countryside.
Julia’s House are getting people involved in a near 300-mile ride from Bournemouth to Paris this summer.
This is the first time the charity, which is opening its first Wiltshire hospice this Spring, has started the popular event close to home, rather than in London.
Hannah Miller, Julia’s House challenge event fundraiser, said: “London has always been the starting point for this ride in the past. It’s much more appealing for local cyclists to be able to set off closer to home.
“Whether people join up with friends or come on their own, there will be a great team atmosphere – plus the shared goal of achieving something amazing, both personally and through fundraising for families with a life-limited child.”
The rides sets off from Bournemouth Square on Thursday, August 31, and will trace a route through Christchurch and the New Forest, before heading on to Portsmouth for the crossing to France.
From Cherbourg the ride will follow the stunning French coastline, go past the iconic Normandy landing beaches, before heading inland through picturesque villages and medieval market towns.
The ride will finish at the iconic Eiffel Tower in the heart of the French capital.
The length of each daily leg will range from 62 miles to 98 miles.
Riders return via the Eurostar.
