MEMBERS of the Beaufort Hunt emptied their pockets to raise money for a good cause at their recent meet.

Every year the Hunt hold a charity meet in order to raise funds for local and national charities this year they raised £1,313 in less than 30 minutes.

Over the years they have raised thousands of pounds, targeting causes that benefit the community.

Different charities are chosen each year and this time around the Bristol Branch of Parkinson's UK was selected as the beneficiary.

A spokesperson for the Hunt said: “Several members and supporters of the Beaufort Hunt suffer from this devastating and debilitating disease and funds raised will go into local research projects.

“The Milsom family have generously hosted this meet at Hundred Acre Farm, Sopworth, for many years and all who attended were welcomed with a warming nip of port for some and a sausage rolls and cake a plenty.”

Willa Harford, from Horton, organised the bucket collection for the charity meet, which took place on Saturday, January 28, and said: “Oh my goodness, we can't believe how generous everybody has been, we raised £1,313.28 this morning at the meet in less than 30 minutes.”
