A FARRIER from Malmesbury has raised nearly £2,500 after flying to Las Vegas to take on one of the most gruelling obstacle courses in the world.

Martin Price, 40, tackled the world famous Tough Mudder course in America last month to raise funds for the charity that supported his friend in her time of need.

Judith Greenman was diagnosed with a left frontal lobe brain tumour last year and, thanks to Brainstrust, a tumour support charity, she got support and advice that possibly saved her life.

To support the charity, Martin took on the 12-mile Tough Mudder course in the Las Vegas desert, which involves clawing through mud, swinging on monkey bars and getting electrocuted.

On returning to Malmesbury he said: “It was tough, it was muddy but the team rocked.

“It was actually muddier than the UK – wet, slimy, sticky clay but everyone enjoyed it, even the spectators were buzzing.

“Special thanks goes to our support crew which included my good friend Judith Greenman.”

Martin ended up raising more than £2,385 for Brainstrust, smashing his initial fundraising target of £500.

Speaking about the charity, Martin said: “Brainstrust supported Judith completely, they were fantastic with her.

“We are now all forever in Brainstrust’s debt and I wish to raise as much money for them as I can.”
