TOURISM in Wiltshire has increased for the fourth consecutive year, according to new figures.
The new 2015 Swindon and Wiltshire Economic Impact study shows that in 2015 staying visits, visitor spend and economic impact were all at record levels.
The report, produced by the South West Research Company, suggest Wiltshire’s visitor economy is now estimated to be worth £1.53bn per annum and supports more than 29,000 jobs.
Peter Wragg is chairman of VisitWiltshire, the county’s leading tourism company, and also a Swindon & Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership Board member.
He said the report is “hugely encouraging” and “gives further evidence of how important tourism is to our overall economy”.
David Andrews, CEO of VisitWiltshire, said the report is a “terrific endorsement” of the company’s marketing efforts.
